Dear future Year 6 student,
In Year 6 my experience at Halsey Drive it has been amazing, we have done really fun and cool things such as: Camp, Rainbows End, Graduation and the Final Year 6 assembly. But remember at Camp to leave your shoes in the right place or say goodbye to them since Mr. Tomokino will throw them in the trash and you should also remember Rainbows End is a rewards trip meaning you’ll only be allowed to go if you’ve been acting good for most of the year. In Year 6 we also have more extracurricular activities like: Road Patrols, House Captains and Year 6 School Councilers. In Year 6 we don’t have a Rosette but that is because we have a lot more awards than year 5’s so try to be a good student since you’d have a more likely chance to get an award. As a Year 6 student you will need to be a role model since you are the oldest in the school. You should also think before you act and always be honest because if you lie about something that you did do then you’ll get a even bigger punishment than you probably already had. Treat people the way you’d like to be treated and don’t bullying the younger kids just because your the oldest. Always make wise choices and Respect relievers just like any other teacher. Remember to always forgive someone if they did something wrong, don’t hold a grudge. Work to the best of yor your ability at all times and if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything.

Colour Poem (Green)
The green vines curl over the standing tall grass as a grasshopper camouflages next to the dancing emerald tree that I lean on. The red hot angry sun gets shaded from the protective tall green trees leaving me slightly cold. Green lilly pads sink to the bottom of the pond as I take a leap of faith for every jump too the next pad. “AHH!” A green scaly slithery snake slithers down from a tree branch and chases me through the green jungle but finally I escape by hiding behind some tall green grass.

WALT: Make Connections
Dear David Larsen,
Hello David, in your story I enjoyed how you used aliens and the alien was the one that was scared of the human, what I didn’t like about the story was that it was very short and I never knew if the aliens ever stopped being afraid of humans. What I would change in the story is to make the story longer and add a part were the humans find out that Ash was an alien, the part that I found interesting was when Ash was talking to the human kids.
